Future STC cheerleaders marched, jumped, rocked and spirited their way through a halftime routine on Friday evening. Seventy-six STC Elementary students were on hand to perform a routine during the STC boys varsity game against Benton.

The routine was learned at a camp for all STC Elementary students. At the camp, participants ranging from pre-school through 4th grade learned cheers and jumps, spent time getting to know the STC basketball cheer squad, and enjoyed snacks. The 2018/19 basketball cheer squad includes captains Lilly Avila and Hope Werner along with Allie Thomazin, Alex Baeza and Addie Romero.

The future cheerleaders learned a crowd favorite cheer called “And We’re Marching,” a sideline cheer called “Rock With the Black” and a throwback cheer called “Truckin.” The elementary girls and boys also learned kicks and jumps. The fourth grade participants were even taught the School Song dance routine. The performance ended with every parent’s favorite kids song, “Baby Shark.”
