STC Trojans earn All-Conference, All-District and Academic awards

Carter Kriegel First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-District and Academic All-Conference

The Trojans stronger performance in the 2018 baseball season paid off as seven from the team were named to the WaMaC west All-Conference teams.

Carter Kriegel was named First team as a pitcher, Lane Koch earned First Team for infield and Colton Vest also earned First Team for outfield.

Landing on Second Team All-Conference was Cael Kellogg at catcher and Cam Klostermann in outfield.

Earning Honorable Mention were Jackson Beltz and Matt Wiese.

Another honor for the Trojans showcased not only the Trojans work on the field but also in the classroom. Kriegel and Klostermann also earned Academic All-Conference.

Colton Vest First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-District

Three from the team also earned All-District honors. Kriegel, Koch and Kellogg were named to the Second Team All-District list for the Northeast District.

South Tama finished 14-21 which was eight wins more than last season and the most wins since South Tama rejoined the WaMaC conference in 2014.

The team, coaching staff and parents gathered for a banquet on Thursday, July 12. Letter winners included Cam Klostermann, Tanner Probasco, Colton Vest, Jake Wilkerson, Lucas Wilkerson, Matt Wiese, Gavin Jimenez, Lane Lekin, Cael Kellogg, Lane Koch, Carter Kriegel, Bradyn Smith, Jackson Beltz, Payton Vest and Mickey Wanatee.

Their season ended the following evening with a 14-1 loss to Oskaloosa in round one of boys Substate.

The Trojans wish good luck to four seniors including Tanner Probasco, Lane Koch, Colton Vest and Jake Wilkerson each who will be attending college in the fall.
