Former STC athletes compete at NCAA Championship

Belle Tyynismaa

NAPERVILLE, Ill.- The distance medley relay team of Jaclyn Rittgers, Aubree Taylor, Belle Tyynismaa and Dakota Tell earned All-American honors with their eighth place finish (11:59.66).Tyynismaa ran the 800 leg in Wartburg’s distance medley team.

Tyynismaa is a STC graduate of the Class of 2016. Tyynismaa was a multi-year State qualifier in track and field as well as a Drake Qualifier. She is the STC record holder in the 400 M Run. She was also a Cross Country State Qualifier her Senior year. She is the daughter of Robert and Penny Tyynismaa from Tama.

Also competing at the NCAA Championships was STC Alumni, Sam Holtz. Holtz competed in the Shot Put in which she took 15th. Holtz was a graduate of the STC Class of 2014. She was a multi-time State qualifier in Shot Put in high school as well as a Drake Qualifier. She is the daughter of Kathy Holtz of Toledo.
