Clippers sweep South Tama in conference double header

South Tama (1-20) softball hosted Clear Creek-Amana (14-11) in a makeup conference double header on Thursday, June 25. It was a tough night for the Trojans who fell 12-0 in game one and 10-0 in game two.

Starting game one for the Trojans were 3B Naomi Hoskey, CF Belle Tyynismaa, SS Dani Stubbs, C Catie Collins, DH McKenna Knock, RF Lauren Yuska, 1B Saylor Upah, RF Natalie Stadler, P Julie Wise and Allison Yuska.

Starting game one for the Clippers were 1B Skylar Hop, 2B Lauren Stopko, C Grace Murray, P Lexi Kinnaird, RF Megan Beckler, LF Courtney James, 3B Jacquelyn Fairhom, CF Hannah Mongin, Clair Navara and SS Madison Rogers.

The Clippers scored 12 runs in the first three innings ending the game early via the mercy rule. STC had no hits, no walks, and were struck out 6 times.

Starting game two for the Trojans were 3B Serena Lowe, CF Belle Tyynismaa, SS Dani Stubbs, C Catie Collins, DH McKenna Knock, LF Natalie Stadler, 1B Saylor Upah, RF Lauren Yuska, P Sabrina Holtz.

Starting game two for the Clippers were C Skylar Hop, 1B Abbigail Kinnaird, 2B Lauren Stopko, P Megan Beckler, RF Lexi Kinnaird, LF Courtney James, 3B Jacquelyn Fairhom, CF Hannah Mongin, Clair Navara and SS Madison Rogers.

The Trojans managed to get seven hits in game two but weren’t able to convert any hits into runs. The Clippers pitcher, Beckler, did not walk a single Trojan batter in game two.

STC plays at home tonight, Wednesday, July 1 against Grundy Center (5-10).
