Jonathan Meyer.

If you’ve read our paper, turned on your TV, been to a parade, attended the state fair, or performed any number of other everyday activities, you might know that elections are coming up very quickly.

Seeing as you’re probably sick of this topic by now, I’ll make my comments brief. I absolutely love the fact that our community has seen so much political action as of late. Having our voices heard by potential leaders (regardless of party) puts Tama-Toledo in a much better place than if we didn’t engage politicians.

I’ve said this a few times in the column over the years–How strange is it that a twenty two year old boy from Tama, has gotten to interview both of our Senators, presidential candidates, and so many other people within politics? I used to religiously watch Good Morning America in 2015 and 2016, with no idea that eventually I’d be helping contribute to the political media coverage that I found so entertaining over a decade ago.

With all these civic opportunities so close to home, I hope you are able to hear ideas and make an informed choice come November. You have power in your vote, and I hope you utilize that.

Until Election Day, I’m Just Jonathan.
