The citizens of Tama are fortunate to have an outstanding resident participating in the upcoming mayor elections on Nov. 5.

Doug Ray is not a newcomer to our town. He grew up in our neighborhoods, graduated from South Tama and has since been employed at Tama Paper Board. Doug has constantly been involved with countless areas of our town. He has gone above and beyond to prove his commitment, loyalty and leadership skills. Doug has devoted 10 years of service as a volunteer firefighter, 15 years on the Tama Ambulance and was a member of the Tama City Council. This only touches the long list of Doug’s credentials. He outstanding leadership earned him the title of Tama’s Citizen of the Year in 2018. An honor that was well deserved and humbly accepted.

What you need to know about Doug is his vested interest in our community. His history of involvement already proves he is an outstanding, respected leader that is willing to step up. Doug will work together with city members to improve business development and raise community pride. He is a great asset that our town needs to recognize by appointing him as our Mayor. As Mayor, Doug will listen to residents concerns and present the best solutions available. He will do his best to bring growth to our community and above all, he will put our town first.

Please get out on Nov. 5 and vote! This is our town, our community. We need to make sure we appoint leaders that will put our interests first. Leaders that will stand tall and make us proud. The best person for this position is Doug Ray.
