Letter to the Editor:

I made an unintentional wording mistake in my recently published letter to the editor that I would like to acknowledge and correct.

In the letter, I shared that the one million dollars in property taxes that Hobart Historic Restoration has stated their Iowa Juvenile Home project would produce would be “roughly 1/3 of our current tax base”.

A more accurate wording, and how it should have read would be that an additional one million dollars would add ‘roughly 1/3 of our operating budget funds’.

I apologize for this mistake and any confusion the error may have caused.
