Voters Right to Support
Letter to the Editor:
Voters Right to Support
While campaigning and going door to door again, I heard from supporters that Sheriff Kucera was asking people; “Why do you have Ellenbecker for Sheriff signs in your yards,” and “What has Ellenbecker done for you?” my answer to those people when talking with them was that I have not mislead them, nor have I been untruthful to them. I have stated the facts since I ran in 2012 to my current campaign in 2016. I have told the truth and have not mislead anyone. If anyone gets this question from Sheriff Kucera., I would suggest that you advise Sheriff Kucera that he is misleading and untruthful.
Here is what I will do for Tama County as your Sheriff. I will….
1) provide 24 hour coverage seven days a week
2) require deputies to patrol and not “watch” the gas that they use. Patrolling makes one pro-active and not re-active
3) provide school patrols before and after school
4) initiate an animal control plan
5) not allow deputies who live out of county to drive a vehicle home at the expense of the tax payers
These are just a few changes that I will do for you as Tama County citizens.
Sheriff Kucera has also questioned supportes as to who has put their sign in there yard? Why does this matter? Is this so that Sheriff Kucera can intimate and or question the person that placed the signs in the yard? I don’t place signs in a yard unless I have not spoken with the owner. There are people that are helping me with my campaign, and they are asking and speaking with people before the signs go into there yards.
I’m not saying that a person will not take the sign and place it into an unwanted yard. If this happens, please notify me at 641-484-2328, and I will remove the sign. I want to be professional; I will not be pushy or intimiating. I will not bully anyone. I feel that speaking the truth and not being misleading will get my point across to the Tama County voters.
Last time I checked, the citizens of Tama County were citizens of the United States of America and have the right to vote and support any candidate that they want without feeling intimidated by the Sheriff’s questioning.
I will not question citizens as to why or who has put a sign in their yard. When I go door to door, I just explain that for which I stand. I feel that the tax payers deserve what I have to offer. I will remain professional and honest with citizens; I will not be untruthful and misleading.
I ask for your support and vote in the Novemember 8 election.
Bryan Ellenbecker,
Candidate
Tama County Sheriff
