Rights and abortion
Letter to the Editor:
Ms. Michael made a compelling case in a letter to the editor (in the July 1st Tama News Herald), that one person’s right does not supersede and get to infringe on another person’s right. Especially if that other person’s right is concerning personal safety. She said it’s :”Time to dispense with the mantras and begin to respect other people’s rights.” She referred to these people as “oblivious”, “very egocentric” and “self-centered”.
Well, congratulations, I think that is the single greatest argument against abortion I have heard lately. One person in a selfish, egocentric, poorly managed sexual fling or relationship that creates a life and gets pregnant does not get to impose their “right” to “choose” to murder that innocent person. Even if that person is too small to defend their own rights to safety. “Oblivious” people may not know that if you kill a pregnant woman you get charged with double homicide, because you killed two people. Even the courts know unborn life is still life. It is beyond selfish to kill your baby because it doesn’t fit in to your own agenda. That is the height of egocentricity and self-centeredness. So Ms. Michael, I agree with you- one person’s self-centered, egocentric right does not get to supersede and infringe on another person’s right, especially when it’s concerning an innocent person’s safety. We’re talking real safety here too, not someone’s cockamamie made up feelings and talking points to push an agenda. Since there is none more innocent than an unborn baby,
I would invite you to join with me and call for a ban on abortion- the epitome of imposing an egocentric bogus right onto a completely innocent victim. I echo something similar to what was stated in your letter: pre born people ” have the right to feel safer knowing that more is being done to keep” their brains from being sucked out because the lady carrying them feels they are an inconvenience.
“Time to dispense with the mantras and begin to respect other people’s rights”
If anyone has ever had an abortion and it’s hard for them to be reminded of it, especially in such blunt terms- my heart goes out to you, but I hope you don’t hold it against me,- when I speak out against infanticide so that others in the future might think twice about something that so many people now regret having had in the past. I also hope you never remember something, that the Lord is so willing to forget, if only you will take it to Him.
