Says Iowa judicial system one of best
Letter to the Editor:
The philosopher Wittgenstein in his last book, wrote about property and its philosophical interpretations. He wrote, one of the most primal form is is through physical force, I have more money, weapons etc.. therefore this or that land is ours.
The Civil War was fought on the idea of sovereign integrity. There’s a big monument on the Toledo square about people who gave their lives for the concept.
It’s hardly racist to give pause in throwing away the benefit of a judicial system for the Meskwaki People/ Nation, that is worldwide considered to be one of the best.
The fact that The State of Iowa is considered to be on of the best of the states makes this doubly so. As the Hebrews felt, as long as the legal precepts don’t mandate a direct confrontation to their values/traditions, it can be argued, the Meskwaki are enriched by a system that stems back to Magna Carta, and was the forerunner of democracy and our system of individual liberties.
