Avoid dogs fights when walking pet in town

Letter to the Editor:

People who walk your dogs please read.

If you have invested in a dog, you have gained a family member for life. Most of you already know this as you are wise. The way I see a lot of dog walkers walking their family member makes me wonder if some of you have a death wish for them.

Yes they do need excercised, they love to run, hunt, chase, poop everywhere. Not in others yards though. Take them out to the park to run on a long lead(not loose). If your lead is long enough you can park yourself away from others and let your dog have fun.

When walking in town where you will come across other dogs, KEEP YOUR LEAD SHORT. I almost witnessed a dog fight in front of my house because one owner had a short lead and the other did not. You will loose control of you dogs with a longer lead, causing problems.

Remember you are walking the dog, NOT the dog walking you. Please teach good manners when around other. Let’s not have any accidents or dog fights. Have a good summer.
