Dear Editor: It seems to me that the increase in sales tax revenue may be attributed to the huge economic boon created by RAGBRAI’s ride through Tama County. The impact of the riders, their crews, and those working in support prior to the event and during the event itself are a likely contributor to the increased revenues for many of the smaller towns on the route. Other events such as these may help determine some of the increases experienced during this unusual spike in revenue. Dixie Forcht Chelsea
