Says President Obama restricted INTERPOL

Letters to the Editor:

I read with interest the letter from Jolynn Herink Stoneking where she asserts that President Barack Hussein? Obama is giving INTERPOL unprecedented power to probe into our lives. She has investigated this and finds it true and invited readers to also investigate.

Therfore, I did. It seems the executive order she cites was first put in place by Ronald Reagan in 1983.

As she said, President Obama ammended this order. But his ammendments gave INTERPOL less freedom and not more. For example, their officers are no longer immune from search when they enter our country and they no longer enjoy tax exempt status on goods they bring into the country.

I could not find a place where he gave INTERPOl more freedom, rather he seems to have curbed their power.

I wanted to speak to the letter writer about this. My experience has been that often times whatever is posted on the internet is taken as truth. Therefore, I applaud her desire to check the article’s authenticity. Many people don’t bother. It would be interesting to see how our research could lend such different results.
