Challenges opponents to health care plan
Letter to the Editor:
It is difficult to understand those who argue against a “government-run health care system” and a “public option.” It’s not that their arguments are that difficult. They are easy to understand and, in some cases, easy to disagree with. The thing that is really difficult is that none of these opponents carry their main argument to its logical conclusion. If they find government-run health care systems so abhorrent, they must also wish to rid our country of the public health care, government-run progams called Medicare and the Veteran’s Administration.
However, none of the opponents, voters and legislators alike, have pushed to have these two programs abolished. Perhaps they will act on their deep desire later and put an end to these public plans. At least this way those vocal and irate people could be consistent, which would give their argument more credence.
