Debra D. Sherrod

Debra D. Sherrod, 61, of Rockledge, FL. passed away on November 15, 2015 surrounded by her husband and daughter.

Born in Marshalltown, IA, Debra moved to Florida in 1985 where she became a Corrections Officer with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, retiring after 24 years of service.

She is survived by her family which includes her husband of 31 years, James; her mother, Darlene Balvin; daughter, Devon Stenlake: 2 brothers, Scott Balvin and David Balvin; 1 sister, Kathy Bazal; her two stepchildren James Sherrod and Amanda Repp; and 4 grandchildren, Hannah Atchison and Haley Stenlake, Emma Sherrod and Kennedy Repp.

Debra was a community member of the St. Mary’s Helping Hand and loved to crochet, bake and read in her spare time. She spent many hours crocheting baby caps and blankets for the Wuesthoff Hospital baby unit and was a volunteer for the East Coast Christian Church Food Bank.

A visitation is set for Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1136 Seminole Drive, Rockledge, FL.
