Beverly Jean Lentner

Beverly Jean Lentner, 77, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11 a,m, at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8,from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Beverly was born on Oct. 17, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Irene (Stone) Slaymaker.

She attended Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids.

On June 22, 1968, she married Duane Lentner in Norway, Iowa. Beverly worked as a cook at a nursing home. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Beverly enjoyed fishing, camping, watching TV and going to the casino.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Maschmann of Tama and Julie (Mickie) Ruple of Newton; four step-children, Sheryl (Dave) Friedman of Blakesburg, Linda (James) Davis of Marshalltown, Penny Hand of Tama and David Lentner of Tama; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe (Ruth) Slaymaker of Springville; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Duane in 2011; one grandson, Nick Murty; and one sister, Virginia Darlene (Richard Sr.) Husted.

A memorial fund has been established.
