Mildred M. Dvorak

Mildred M. Dvorak, 88, of Marion, died at home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Nick Longworth.Visitation will be one hour prior the service. Burial: St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Tama, Iowa.

Mildred was born on Nov. 4, 1926, the daughter of Rudy and Lottie Vratisovsky. She attended Richland #4 School. At the end of World War II, she met a handsome returning soldier, Edward R. Dvorak and on January 7, 1947 and they were married. Together they farmed the land where Mildred was born until Ed’s death in 1985. Mildred moved to Marion after that to be closer to her daughters.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Luke and Cindy J. Dvorak (John Combellick); granddaughter, Katie Tihpen (Chris Nugent); great grandchildren, Jiles, Jayden, Kalen, Maddox, and Presley; and special friend and dancing partner, Marvin Evers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Frances Baker and Libbie Behaunek; and son-in-law, Galen Luke.
