The Toledo Council was down to the skeleton crew, as only Joe Boll, Steve Vesely, and Duane Pansegrau were present. Boll kicked off the meeting with a sports metaphor and a reminder to keep things short and sweet. Following that opening statement, Matt Zmolek made a presentation to the council about the insurance. After hearing everything, the council approved the renewal.

They went on to have a public hearing on the vacation of the alley at 104 W. Ohio St. After the hearing, they approved vacating the alley and waiving the second and third readings. The council then set a public hearing to sell the alley on Sept. 28.

The council set another public hearing for the 28th; this one to amend Ch.30 of the Toledo Code of Ordinances. This is connected to the Tama-Toledo Police merger.

As Marty Hardon recently bought the building in uptown Toledo that holds the Toledo Economic Development office, the council approved paying the new rent agreement.

Kendall Jordan was approved to purchase equipment that was budgeted. He is purchasing a Gator with a possible spray kit for approximately $28,000.

The clerks were approved to go to the Fall IMFOA conference in late October.

A public hearing to vacate a city right-of-way property at the corner of Business Hwy 30 E and Broadway was set for Sept. 28.

The developer dealing with the Woodlawn Housing project was awarded a grant to move forward. The council approved setting a public hearing on the project for Sept. 28.

The public works department reported working on things at the park, as well as working on other projects.

Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley reported that between Aug. 24 and Sept. 13, the department received 327 calls for service and made 10 arrests. The department also held a class for Iowa Premium on dealing with violent intruders.

The City Attorney reported winning an appeal that was filed in a nuisance case, as well as other upcoming cases.

Toledo Economic Development also reported multiple projects they are working on.
