JOHNSTON — Cancer patients, trauma victims, organ transplant recipients and so many more Americans rely on lifesaving blood transfusions every day.

LifeServe Blood Center and the community need help to make sure they have access to the blood products they need. The summer months can be an especially critical time for blood donation, as donation appointments tend to drop off due to vacations, summer activities and the change in routines.

This July, celebrate the spirit of America by helping save lives in two Tama County communities with a blood donation.

• Dysart Lions Club Community,1 p.m to 6 p.m. on Jul 14 at 418 Main St., Dysart

• Tama & Toledo Communities, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Jul 22 at 305 Siegel St., Tama
