This week’s Tama County Supervisors meeting started with a public comment discussion on the current traffic in the county and the detours dictating said traffic. When they moved on to the actual meeting, they kicked it off with the roads report, stating that rock is being hauled and chloride is being put down this week.

There was some discussion when it came to the IDOT preconstruction agreement. A few weeks ago, the supervisors approved going forward with the cheaper rumble strips over the pricier mumble strips for the project. There was a slight stumble in the paperwork regarding the rumble price, which was mixed with the mumble price. The supervisors let out a slight grumble over the rumble mumble price jumble, but remained humble, and didn’t crumble, as they fixed this bumble. With the altered price, the agreement was approved.

The supervisors approved a utility permit for the Iowa Department of Transportation.

An amendment to the engineer’s DOT budget was approved.

A motion for the Secondary Roads department to move to four ten-hour days died. It will be discussed with the department to see if they can cover every day of the week with the four ten-hour day schedule, and then it will be brought back to the supervisors.

The FY25 cost allocation plan was approved.

A 28E agreement with Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center was approved.

A long discussion was had on Tama County Public Health and Home Health Care, as well as Greenbelt Home Care. The two remaining nurses from Tama County public and home health were present to make their feelings and thoughts known to the supervisors. No action was taken.

Claims totaling $64,463.91 were approved.
