Holiday Kickoff
In a fever dream-like moment, snow fell in the parking lot of the country club on Saturday morning, but nowhere else in Tama County. It was the annual Hometown Holiday celebration, and the seasonal cheer was in the air. Santa greeted kids at the country club before they got to go on a delightful horse drawn carriage ride. Hardon’s had kicked off the holiday season in the morning, and Toledo Library had a make-and-take your own ornament activity for the little ones. The Wieting Theatre showed the movie “Elf” for free, and at the STC High School gym, there was the after-prom vendor fair. All of this led up to the holiday parade in downtown Toledo and the first night for the Jolly Lights at the Heights display. Cars lined the street for their opportunity to see this year’s great display. The holiday season has now officially begun.
