Bandstand and solar
This week’s Tama County Supervisors meeting
This week’s Tama County Supervisors meeting started with a lively back-and-forth during the public comment time. Afterwards, the official meeting kicked off with Ben Daleske, the Tama County Engineer, giving his weekly report, saying that H Avenue has been finished up and that they are working on the secondary ditch. 370th Street between I Avenue has been opened up after some rocking was done; ditches still need to be dug. Ditches will also be dug on 275th Street east of C Avenue. Dust control has been applied to some areas, and street patching is being done.
The supervisors approved a utility permit and a temporary liquor license for Lucky Wife Wine Slushies.
The supervisors talked about the bandstand project, which is in need of $25,000. After some discussion, they decided to donate $5,000.
The supervisors also talked about the Commercial Solar Ordinance after they were able to go through it. They decided to move forward by sending the proposed ordinance to County Attorney Brent Heeren for review.
Claims totaling $121,852.76 were approved.
