Local emergency services join funeral procession of late Iowa officer

A line of emergency vehicles joined a funeral procession on Friday, Dec. 20, to honor the life of a late officer. Sgt Mark Kjormoe, just 48 years old, lost his battle with cancer earlier this month. The Marion Police Officer served for 25 years and was being transferred to his final resting place in Le Grand. The Toledo Fire Department parked their ladder truck on the Broadway overpass, extended the ladder, and hung an American flag. Also present were Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley, Lt. Nathan Wunn, SRO Vern Jefferson, Officer Igor Dias, and Reserve Officer Dalaynee Henle. From Toledo Fire Dept were Captain Jesse Brown, Lt. Dirk Henle, Lt, Darren Blocker, Firefighter Daryl Niedermann, and Dallas Boerm, and Ashley Kajer with Toledo EMS. Members of the Tama Police Department, Tama County Sheriff’s Office, and Meskwaki Nation Police Department stood by at other areas along Highway 30 to pay their respects.
