CONTRIBUTED PHOTO Mrs. Angelica Binford (Trudy Wilson) welcomes her guests to the Binford House.

There have been many events scheduled this year at the Binford House to help celebrate the Sesqui-Centennial – but this one will be the most fun from noon to 4 p.m. on July 7.

It’s open to the entire community and has something for everyone. There will be music, food, l874 games for the kids, tours of historical buildings and the Grand Finale at 4 p.m. – a Tug of War between the Police and Fire Departments and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

The Marshall County Cattlemen will be serving Beef Burgers the entire afternoon. In addition ~ snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy will be available.

Participants can tour the historical Binford House where Mr. and Mrs. Binford will be there to welcome them. The Suzy Sower House and the Taylor 24 School (across from the Tallcorn) will also be available for free tours between Noon and 4 p.m. So bring lawn chairs and spend the afternoon learning what life was like in 1874 in Marshalltown.
