Plats and leases
This week’s Toledo City Council meeting
The Toledo Council meeting this week was rather run of the mill. The meeting started with the setting up of a public hearing for the vacation of alleys on 301 N County Rd. The public hearing was set for Nov. 13.
The meeting moved on with two public hearings on routine ordinance changes. With both hearings lasting less than a minute, they were swiftly approved.
The council then went on to approve the final plats for the Woodlawn Addition.
In old business, the council had time to look over the new Kids Corner Daycare lease. Among other aspects of the new lease, the rent for the daycare will be raised to $1,000 a month.
Kendall Jordan with the Public Works department reported that they’ve been winterizing the town, from the pool to the park. Street patching has been finished and a new employee has started.
Chief Quigley reported that between Oct. 9 and Oct. 22, the Toledo Police Department responded to 99 calls to service and made 11 arrests. The last couple of weeks have also been a struggle with the police department’s vehicles, as problems have popped up one after another. The Chief also said that they will be participating in Friday, Oct. 27’s Trunk or Treat festivities and that Officer Vern Jefferson will be having a food drive in the Fareway parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 28.
The Clerk reported having learned a lot at their training and starting on the budgets.
