At Monday’s Tama County Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Curt Hilmer had the reins. The usual master of the meetings, supervisor Bill Faircloth, was out of the office, telecommuting via telephone. Curt made the most of his time as the big kahuna, the only hiccup in his leadership was having to be constantly reminded to vote on the agenda items, rather than just approve them, by fellow supervisor Dan Anderson.

The Tama County Engineer reported that motor graders are out working on dust control. Work on the Toledo Bridge is moving along swiftly, and the deck should be poured in mid-August. Workers are still picking up from RAGBRAI.

A public hearing for the possible de-appropriation in the public health budget was set for Aug. 21 at 10 a.m.

After a few questions, the treasurer’s Semi-Annual report was approved.

The Recorder’s quarterly report and the Veteran Affairs Quarterly report were approved as well.

Double D was approved for a liquor license.

Claims totaling $356,750.72 were approved.
