Mayor’s resignation and lift station bidding

TAMA – The Tama City Council thanked Doug Ray for his service to the city as Mayor before accepting his resignation.

The council went on to approve a resolution to hear bidders for the new Tama Lift Station Screen Project.

Wages were set and approved for the new Reserve Officer.

A resolution to close 3rd Street for RAGBRAI was approved.

A raise for Advanced EMT Chris Harris was approved.

Jerry Dolash recently got his Grade 1 in water and was approved for a title appropriate raise.

South Tama County Superintendent John Cain and Toledo Police Chief Quigley were also in attendance to discuss the plans for a School Resource Officer. Issues over money are still being discussed.

EMS will be receiving their brand new ambulance this week and also reported that calls are up this year compared to previous years.

The Tama Public Works shop is nearing completion.
