TAMA – Enright-Schroder Tama American Legion Post 73, American Legion post 73 Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and Tama-Toledo Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6607 members gathered in multiple locations around the city of Tama to honor memorial day. Mondays celebrations included: St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Oak Hill Cemetery, and a Wreath Ceremony at Iowa River Bridge

Many STC Students joined in on the ceremonies across Tama. Multiple young men participate with the Sons of the American Legion. Maeley Elsbury and Roman Hill both played Taps to honor the fallen during the various ceremonies in the community.

TOLEDO – Reinig-Friedrich Post 72 Toledo American Legion and Sons of the American Legion members gathered for multiple Memorial Day services on Monday. Toledo American Legion Post 72 Commander Elizabeth Ledvina led the services, beginning with a speech. Each service held a different topic Ledvina would touch on, none less touching than the last. Services were held at Hayes Cemetery, Courthouse lawn in Toledo, and Woodlawn Cemetery.

Multiple unique honors and recognitions were made by Ledvina. In front of the Toledo legion Ledvina read the names of all Tama County veterans who have passed away in the last year.

After a 21 gun salute was performed at Woodlawn Cemetery, an additional five rounds were fired in honor of the five Toledo Legion members who have passed away in the last year.
