“The last time that I had talked to Brent Heeren about the legal processes going on over here, he told me, he said it’s all political, he says I want nothing to do with it,” Supervisor Bill Faircloth said at Monday’s Tama County Supervisors meeting.

The statement was made during the discussion about hiring an attorney for the Board of Adjustments due to their possible issue with Mid-American Energy. Hiring an attorney for the Board was eventually approved after it was agreed that the Supervisors would attempt to talk to Heeren, the elected Tama County attorney, again.

The supervisors also decided that additional informational solar hearings are not needed, as everyone got to talk at last week’s hearing. Three hearings will be held after the solar ordinance is amended.

More than $40,000 were transferred from one fund to another for the Sheriff. The FY23 Budget Amendment Hearing was had with the resolution passing.

The supervisors approved the advertising for Zoning Board members and Administrator for two weeks, with a position start date of July 1.

The County Engineer reported that work has begun on the Deer Creek bridge west of Toledo as well as that of the durapatcher by Gladbrook. Jerico will also be starting on dust control.
