The new Tama County Engineer, Ben Daleske, informed at the May 8 Tama County Supervisors meeting that the Deer Creek bridge is about to be closed for replacement. The date of the construction’s commencement was then announced on Tuesday to be Thursday, May 11. The Deer Creek bridge is located on the west end of Toledo, on Business 30, next to Dolezal Farm Supply. The bridge isn’t expected to be done until October.

Three men were appointed to the Redistricting Committee, whose job is to split the county into five equal districts so that the county can then elect two additional Supervisors. Supervisor Dan Anderson appointed Joe Boll, Supervisor Bill Faircloth appointed Mike Wentzien and Supervisor Curt Hilmer appointed Richard Arp.

The new engineer also reported that Alliant Energy will be putting some power in the ground between Abbot and C Avenue, as well as some roads are being patched.

A temporary liquor license was approved for The Traveling Tipster.

Claims totaling $1,896,771.13 were approved.
