Mary Boldt has retired after working 39 years at Tama County Mutual Insurance Association in Traer.

She was Assistant Secretary-Treasurer for the Mutual company, as well as an insurance agent for L.L.Owens & Associates, now Eikamp Insurance.

During her 39 years of employment, she has made many friends, gotten to know many clients, and witness many storms. Mary has enjoyed getting to know her fellow employees and agents.

Mary said, “A day being an insurance agent is never a dull day.” She added, “It is a rewarding experience that you are able to help someone in their time of need.” Mary suggested if someone is looking for a job, consider the insurance industry: “Insurance is something that keeps you on your toes and is rewarding.”

The Tama County Mutual board of directors and officers thanked Mary for her outstanding career at the Annual Meeting on April 4 in Toledo, Iowa. Mary Boldt issued and signed almost every check for the Mutual, including the many, many checks from the 2020 derecho. The 2020 windstorm event included 557 claim files and over $30 million paid to policyholders, she was involved with all those claims.
