Three residents at the Sunny Hill Care Center turned 99 this year. Raymond Ryan’s birthday was on June 15, Helen Sevcik’s was on March 1 and Gilbert “Gib” Chatland’s was on May 18.

Gilbert submitted a poem he wrote to the News Chronicle which reads as follows:

Darling we are growing old silver threads among the gold.

Listen, listen you can hear some are far and some are near.

Some are even just above.

They came to me on the wings of a dove.
