VFW celebrates 75 years in Tama

The William Kvidera VFW Post 6607 in Tama was recently presented with a number of awards, including the Diamond Jubilee Award commemorating 75 years as a charter with the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization. District 3 Commander Jeff Ryant (pictured right) was on hand to present the awards on behalf of the VFW state organization. Receiving the awards is Post Commander Mike Kupka (left). The other awards presented included a Citizenship Education Award and awards for membership retention. The post also elected officers for the upcoming year. Those elected included Mike Kupka, Post Commander; Jonathan Aldrich, Senior Vice Commander; Charles Betz, Junior Vice Commander; Don Dolezal, Quartermaster; Ron Betz, Chaplain; and trustees Larry Thomas, Elizabeth Ledvina and Kim Banes. – Photos provided
