What motivated you to run for this office?

The desire to serve the community. I have been involved in city government as a council member and as mayor. I serve on the Montour Fire Department as a fireman/EMT and with Toledo EMS as an EMT. I feel commitment to the community and wish to serve the school district.

What qualities and behaviors should school board members exhibit?

School board members must be good listeners, have an open mind and have the ability to make an objective decision based on the best interest of the district.

What do you see as the primary roles and responsibilities for the position you are running for?

To ensure the students receive the best possible education to prepare them for future productive lives and to be the best possible citizens.

How would you handle requests if approached by an individual? Special interest group?

Listen to the requests, ask questions and base my decision on the value of the request to the district and its students.

What do you feel are the three most important issues the school board will face during your (anticipated) term as a school board member? How do you plan to address those issues?

Physical facilities must be appropriate, up to code, accessible, adequate and in good repair.

The physical well being of students. Masking and vaccinations recommended when available. Make sure all threat mitigation plans are up to date.

Make sure all students receive appropriate education. Offer appropriate curriculum for both college and vocational students.

Why should people vote for you on November 2, 2021?

If voters are interested in have a moderate member who is willing to listen to all of the issues and will weigh decisions based on facts and the needs of students.
