Tour Iowa Juvenile Home / State Training School for Girls
South Tama Superintendent Jared Smith calls for feedback at the end of a tour of the closed Iowa Juvenile Home / State Training School for Girls school and office area by community members and STC?school staff on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The facility is one suggested possibility to replace the Middle School in Toledo. A public meeting is planned on Dec. 2 to reveal findings of what approach the district may take.

- More than 50 South Tama School District patrons and staff checked out the Iowa Juvenile Home / State Training School for Girls to get a feel for its possible suitability as a replacement for the present Middle School. The state facility has been closed since January 15, 2014, with efforts to find a suitable use for the 27 acre campus so far unsuccessful.
