Before Judge Jason D. Besler in Tama County District Court in Toledo:

BrentonJames Roberts, 38, rural Montour, entered a written guilty plea to assault causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to serve 365 days in jail to be served concurrently with a sentence imposed in 2017 on charges of willful injury and fined and assessed court costs totaling $560.

Roberts was charged after allegedly assaulting a fellow inmate in the Tama County Jail in Toledo on Aug. 31 He was accused of pushing the other prisoner causing him to fall backward and hitting a stool or table before falling to the floor of the jail dayroom. The victim was taken to UnityPoint Health Marshalltown and found to have suffered two fractured ribs and a punctured lung accord to the court information filed by Jail Administrator Brian Randall on Sept. 4.

Diego Gavino Guzman Villafana 18, Toledo, pleaded guilty to two counts of driving while barred in a plea agreement. he was fined a total of $1,888.

He was charged on June 14 in the 100 block of West High Street by Toledo Police Officer Nathan Shepard and on July 25 on Business Highway 30 by Toledo Police Officer Kyle Howe.

Parnell J. Roberts, 46, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but seven days suspended and credited for any time already served and fined and assessed court costs totaling $2,641. He was placed on supervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services for two years and t pay the supervisory enrollment fee.

Roberts was charged on South county Road on April 28 by Toledo Police Officer Kyle Howe.

Before Judge Mary E. Chicchelly:

CharlesDavid O’Shogay, 31, Garwin, was sentenced to 90 days in jail with all but seven day suspended, credit for any time already served. He was fined, assessed court costs a civil fee totaling $3,056. He had entered written guilty pleas to 2nd offense drunken driving and assault causing bodily injury – domestic on Oct. 2. He was placed on supervised probation to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services and directed to pay a $300 supervision fee.

On the assault charge he received a deferred judgment

O’Shogay was charged on Aug. 2 at East 7th and Park streets following an altercation by Tama Police Officer Daniel Sutfin.

Saare Gafo Gerezgiher, 20, Toledo, was found contempt of court for failure to follow terms,s of probation. He was sentenced to 28 days in jail with credit for 28 days served and was discharged from probation. He was cited in a probation violation report for failure to make regular restitution and supervision fee payments nor completing drinking driver’s school or completing substance abuse evaluation. In addition, the report said he faced a new felony charge in Marshall County.

Gerezgiher was originally charged on Business Highway 30 on May 25, 2018, by Toledo Police officer Nathan Wunn following a traffic accident in which his vehicle crossed the center line and rolled onto its side.

Ryan Jannae Roberts, 21, rural Montour, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance – marijuana. Judgment was deferred and a civil penalty, law enforcement initiative surcharge and DARE surcharges and courts costs totaling $550 were assessed. She was placed on unsupervised probation.

Roberts was charged on July 22 during a traffic stop on Business Highway 30 by Toledo Police Officer Kyle Howe.
