Women, Land and Legacy:
An event focusing on estate and transition planning will be held on Monday, March 26 at the S
tate Bank of Toledo Community Room, 103 S. Broadway in Toledo. Dessert and registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the event following at 7 p.m.
Spend the evening with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’sMelissa O’Rourke. Learn how to avoid the top ten mistakes in estate and transition planning. Melissa is an attorney specializing in a number of fields including agricultural law, estate planning, and farm transition and succession.

Tama Co. Extension Estate Planning Seminar:
The Tama County office of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be offering a seminar on estate planning on Wednesday, April 11, from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the office at 203 W. High St. in Toledo. Kelvin Leibold, Iowa State University Extension Farm Management Field Specialist, will present the program.
Topics will include: property ownership, wills, federal estate tax, Iowa inheritance tax, gifting, trusts, and gift taxes.
“This is a program that applies to everyone, not just farmers,” emphasizes Leibold. “Often thousands of dollars in tax can be avoided by good planning” states Leibold. This program will provide background information to assist participants to work more effectively with their professional and legal advisors.
