Saturday Night: Haunted Hayrack Ride Around Cherry Lake in Tama

It’s back for a fifth year and promises to be as exciting, er… scary, as in the past. Some of the ghosts and goblins from previous years are expected to be back and some new creatures will be lurking around Cherry Lake.
Haunted Hayrack Rides sponsored by the City of Tama will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday night, Oct. 21, with boarding at the Tama Civic Center as in the past. The aim this year is to wrap up rides by 11 p.m. according to the plans of the organizers.
Even though it is unknown if the likes of “chainsaw people.” Chuckles and others will be on the scene, but you are warned to “Be prepared to be scared.”
Kids will enjoy the annual Trick or Treat Trail in the Tama Fire Station at the Civic Center. Sponsored by the Tama-Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce. It runs from 5-6:30 p.m.
Ages 0-12 are invited to take part and receive treats from area businesses and organizations. It is also free of charge.

You can also again enjoy a chili supper at the Civic Center with serving starting at 5 p.m. The proceeds from a free-will offering to benefit the Tama County Humane Society.
Set up begins on the trail at noon on Friday, Oct. 20. If you know of any ghoulish characters who would like to take part have them contact the Tama City Clerk’s Office – 484-3822.
