Last week at the Iowa Senate, Iowa members of the American Heart Association talked with legislators about the advantages of having safe routes for kids to walk and bike to school. Research has found children who get to school under their own power are less likely to struggle with childhood obesity. As part of the event, five-year-old Lily Frelund let Senator Steve Sodders ride in her school bus.
