Alia Ali

This year the South Tama Community has been fortunate to host not one but two foreign exchange students. Pat and Alan Kline are hosting Alia Ali from Kenya and Brent and Becky Heeren are hosting Ana Melko who is from Russia.

Pat, Becky and Alia were on hand Monday March 9 to speak to the Toledo City Council regarding an upcoming event they are planning at the Toledo Community Center. The event to be held is the American Councils Students Cultural Fair on Sunday, April 12 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

It is an opportunity to meet the State Department Scholarship Exchange Students and learn what this experience means to them and their hosts. Fair goers will also be able to sample food and learn about different cultures.

Alia encouraged the council to attend. The council also graciously waived the rental fee for the building.
