Toledo Library sets events

Fall has once again graced us with its magnificence. It is a wonderful time to get out and about and enjoy this time of year. When you are out and about, make sure one of your stops is the Toledo Library.

The library has so much to offer and you will not be disappointed! The library is having the Annual Autumn Book Sale going on now through November. Stop in and grab a couple of bags to fill your shelves for those cold winter months. Other incredible and enlightening upcoming events are:

Be sure not to miss the Iowa Author Event with Jeffrey Copeland on Monday, Oct. 24 with a book signing at 6 p.m. and the presentation at 7 p.m. Copeland is the author of Inman’s War-A Soldier’s Story of Life in a Colored Battalion in WWII. This event is hosted by the AAUW and is free and open to the public. The library will close at 6 p.m. for this event. SEE STORY PAGE 1.

Early Out program No. 4, Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. Get your kids signed up for these fun events.

Reminders that the library holds preschool story time each Friday at 11 a.m. and after school story time each Thursday at 4 p.m.

The library has two meeting rooms available for public use free of charge. Talk to any library staff to find out more.

New movies to the shelves are: Love’s Enduring Promise (based on Janette Oke’s Love Comes Softly book series) Soul Surfer, Vantage Point and Thor.

Newest listening audio books are: Sandra Brown, Lethal; Stuart Woods, Son of Stone; Heather Graham, Angel for Christmas; James Lee Burke, Feast Day of Fools; and John Sandford, Shock Wave.
