Iowa’s original “rocker” at Tama Co. Museum Wednesday

TAMA NEWS-HERALD-“Juke Boxes, Pool Halls, and Duck Tails” by Layton Zbornik, an Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, will be featured at the Tama County Historical Society Museum on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. The program is part of the regular monthly meeting of the Tama County Historical Society and Genealogical Library,

Layton Zbornik is an Iowa native who was a teen rocker, songwriter, producer (as Jerry Martin), and one of the top radio personalities of the 60s (as King Zbornik). Zbornik will be entertaining the crowd with a musical trip back in time.in 1957 he was a rock and roller known as Jerry Martin. As Martin, he was the first musician to record a rock and roll song in the state of Iowa.
