TOLEDO CHRONICLE-Mike Davis’ art work can be viewed in the Toledo Public Library display case during August and September.

Ironically, when Mike Davis was younger and attended day care and preschool, he hated coloring and “craft time.” Ten years later, Mike has come a long way by creating drawings in pencil, ink, charcoal, and pastels.

He has also branched out to do wood burning and coffee painting.

Mike enjoys drawing the classics such as Looney Tunes and Marvel comic superheroes. He also likes to create his own original characters which have been featured in his church newsletter, The Breadbasket, for the First Presbyterian Church of Toledo.

Mike, 15, will be a freshman at South Tama High School this year and looks forward to taking as many art classes as possible.

Toledo Public Library hours are Monday-Thursday – 11 a.m. – 7p.m., Friday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon.
