Old Time Gospel Show returns to Wieting Oct. 30

Johnson Strings to appear at Wieting on Saturday night at the Old Time Gospel Show. Proceeds beenfit the wieting Phoot provided

TOLEDO CHRONICLE – The Old Time Gospel show will feature the Johnson Strings, County Line, and Press On at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Wieting Theatre. This will be the first time that the Johnson Strings (an 8 member family group from New Hartford, Iowa) will be performing at the Wieting. This outstanding group will present a full hour of music to kick off the show and get our minds off the scary Halloween Creatures. Following them will be County line with a half hour of country gospel and finally Press On (another country gospel group.) A free will offering will be taken at intermission which will go entirely to the Wieting Restoration Fund.

This writer has seen the Johnson Strings and I guarantee that you will not be able to sit still while they play. I like to describe their music as the sweetest music this side of Heaven. You will probably feel like dancing. Each member of the family plays a stringed instrument; violin, cello, bass, guitar, banjo, and Mom plays keyboard. All have great singing voices.

If you don’t get worn out on Saturday night and you want to hear more of their music, the Johnson Strings will be in charge of the Sunday morning service Oct. 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Toledo at 10 a.m. All are welcome.
