Fuses caused power outage

TAMA NEWS-HERALD – Alliant Energy spokesperson Ryan Stensland told The news-Herald at 2:04 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14:

“We lost power today at 12:35 pm to 2,118 customers in the Toledo area (there may be a few customers with Tama addresses that experienced the outage that border Toledo). We had several fuses that blew in the Toledo Substation. Crews are on the scene trying to make repairs and it appears that an equipment issue caused the fuses to pop.

We expect to have everyone on in the next couple of hours if not before.”

The Alliant statement did not note power was also interupted to areas of downtown Tama for about 20 minutes during the period.
