Flags to fly at IJH

TOLEDO CHRONICLE -The Iowa Juvenile Home will once again proudly raise their “Avenue of Flags” on campus grounds for Memorial Day Weekend, in remembrance of individuals and groups for which flags have been dedicated, either as a memorial, or a living tribute.

At a dedication ceremony, planned for Friday, May 28, 2010 beginning at 3:00 p.m., a new flag will be added to the Avenue’s skyline in honor of Ronald G. McClelland. The general public is cordially invited to attend this ceremony to be held in center campus.

We have all known individuals who have impacted our lives in one way or another, or who have committed themselves to unselfish service for our country, the community around them, or their family.

It was for those people, or groups, that the Iowa Juvenile Home established the Avenue of Flags, either as a memorial or a living tribute.

Any individual or organization may dedicate a flag by contacting the Iowa Juvenile Home at 641-484-2560, ext. 2305, if you would like more information regarding this project. Cost of a flag, pole, and plaque is $84.

The next dedication ceremony will be planned for Labor Day weekend.
