Toledo Farmers Market

Early summer produce is expected to start becoming abundent at the Toledo Farmers Market. You can check out the selection this Indpendence Day weekend from 5- 7 p.m. Friday night, July 3.

The market is held on the Tama County Courthouse square in downtown Toledo. Dawn Troutner’s market report can be found on Page 5.

Harry Gardner 5K Run-Walk

The 18th annual Harry Gardner – Toledo 5K Run-Walk takes place on Friday, July 3, beginning at 7 p.m.

Walk-up registration can be made up to 6:45 p.m. on race night.

The race begins and finishes at the stoplight on the southeast corner of the Tama County Courthouse square.

4th of July Fireworks

The big fireworks display for the 4th of July celebrating Independence Day is scheduled to begin at dusk at the Toledo City Park near Toledo Heights. The Toledo Fire department will again provide the pyrotecnics.

The cities of Toledo, Tama, local businesses and private individuals provide the financial support for the fireworks each year.
