A meeting to discuss establishment of a Meskwaki Career Technical Academy at the former Iowa Juvenile Home / State Training School for Girls in Toledo has been postponed a second time according to City Clerk Kim McAdoo.

She said an email informed her upcoming changes in the Toledo City?Council and the Sac and Fox Tribal Council were given as the reasons for the delay.

No new date was announced.

Toledo city officials had been invited to meet with Rex Kozak of IT Electrical Services in Marshalltown. Kozak, along with the head of Meskwaki Housing, Kent Scheid, earlier this year appeared before the council seeking support for establishing a Meskwaki Career Technical Academy on the former IJH site.

The state institution and its 27-acre campus here was closed in January, 2014, and has sat vacant since.
