Ron and Helen Slechta, Kalona, have sold Slechta Communications to Anamosa Publications.

The Slechtas group includes The Kalona News, The Lone Tree Reporter and The Highland Review. They have been in business there since June 1, 1992.

Previously they had owned an interest in The Tama News-Herald where Ron Slechta served as editor.

According to the Iowa Newspaper Association Bulletin the Slechtas plan to retire and continue to live in Kalona. Ron has been named publisher emeritus of The Kalona News and will continue to write his column Blind Side.
