“Lemonade for Livy” served at Shopko

Epilepsy Foundation’s “Lemonade for Livy” campaign got a boost from Cami Cibula, 9, LeGrand, and Shopko as she sold lemonade and baked goods on Saturday, July 30 at the Toledo store. Tim and Pam Vislisel, Center Point, were just a pair of her many customers.

Being set up in 300 Shopko stores, the Lemonade for Livy Stand was hosted at the .Shopko, 1006 S. County Road (U.S.) 63) Toledo on Saturday, July 30 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

This version of the Lemonade for Livy Stand and how it came about is told by Cami’s mother, Kylee Cibula:

“My daughter Cami had discussed with me about setting up a lemonade stand and donating the profits to the Epilepsy Research Foundation of Iowa. While doing research on the Epilepsy Foundation of Iowa, I came across the Lemonade for Livy annual initiative that is done nationwide in July.”

She decided to host her own stand and we were thrilled when we discovered that Shopko stores across the states also support the Lemonade for Livy initiative. When I called our local Shopko and spoke with the manager, I was told they will have donation collection cans at the registers, but they did not have anyone planned to actually host the lemonade stand. I quickly stated my daughter would love to man a lemonade stand. The manager would need to place a few phone calls to verify that it was indeed okay for her to allow this.

“While I was waiting for a return call, I figured I would need to supply all the items, which was fine with me.

“However, I was pleasantly surprised when the manager returned my call and told me they would allow her to host the stand as well as supply the items needed.
